Fixed term, Fulltime 12 months
Kāpiti Coast District Council is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Team Leader for our Development Control Team on a fixed-term 12-month contract.

The Development Control Team has a strong focus on innovation and improving our practices, so we are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has a passion for continuous improvement, and has sound technical expertise in land development engineering and RMA processes. Incorporating technology, being efficient and effective, and fostering relationships with customers are key focus areas for the team, so demonstrated experience in these areas will be of benefit.

Your ability to manage a broad range of issues while maintaining a clear focus on the customer is important to your success in the role. As part of the resource consents and compliance leadership group, you will be responsible for empowering your team and providing direction through supportive coaching and mentoring.

To be successful in this role you will have:
- strong knowledge and understanding of the RMA, particularly resource consents and compliance
- Proven relevant experience in subdivision or similar work, with an understanding of sustainable development principles
- excellent communication skills
- a demonstrated proactive and collaborative approach
- a relevant tertiary qualification in resource management or planning, and
- minimum of 7 years’ experience.
