The Kāpiti Coast is a wonderful place to work, live and play. Our vision at Kāpiti Coast District Council reflects the aspirations of our community and provides a strong direction as we navigate the coming years, with the challenges – and opportunities – that will bring for our district. Our role at Council is to represent our community, and to enable local decision-making to promote our social, economic, environmental and cultural wellbeing.
To support us in achieving these aspirations[PDF 32.05 MB], we are seeking to appoint a Group Manager Iwi Partnerships who will build authentic and enduring relationships between the Council, mana whenua and Māori, and will ensure delivery of strategic priorities while enhancing Māori participation with the Council. Reporting to the Chief Executive, this GM will also embed mana whenua perspectives within the organisation as part of our ongoing commitment to biculturalism and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Great candidates for this position will be passionate and knowledgeable in kaupapa Māori (as it relates to service delivery) and be adept at working across an organisation to ensure these values are reflected in the ways we serve. With a broad mix of internal and external partners, you will bring a partnering approach to all of your engagements and demonstrate a culture-by-design approach to system change. Most importantly, an authentic passion for Māori development, cultural transformation and community service will be the hallmarks of successful candidate.
For those seeking a senior leadership opportunity leading change in critical service functions, this role represents a compelling next career step.
Applications close on 30th March 2023 at 9am. Emails will be electronically acknowledged and further correspondence may be by email.
For more information please phone Nick Buck from Sheffield on +64 27 474 5366. Further information about the position and application documents are published on here.
The preferred candidate will be required to undergo the usual pre-employment checks, including drug and alcohol screening, criminal history, and credit checks. Please note you must be eligible to work in New Zealand.
