About the role
Kāpiti District Libraries is recruiting a Kaiwhakahaere Mātāpuna : Hub Lead for Waikanae Library to join a team of three Hub Leads who will change the way we operate as a district wide network.
The combined skill sets of the Hub Leads will collectively benefit and inform district-wide consistency of service delivery, systemically excellent library operations, and cultivate contemporary bi-cultural community hubs. The Hub Lead roles spearhead customer service across the Kāpiti district and act as kaitiaki for the library facilities they are stationed at.
The Hub Lead based at Waikanae Library is an exciting and evolving role as we progress towards the building of a new community facility.
The Hub Lead will play an important part in managing the day-to-day operations of our current temporary facility and contributing significantly to planning for operations in the new hub.
Skills and Experience
- Dynamic people leadership skills.
- Experience in developing and delivering operations and services in a new community facility is desirable.
- An understanding of Te Ao Māori perspectives and Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and their application and expression within libraries.
- A level of proficiency in Te Reo appropriate to the specific Hub and local community.
- Tertiary qualifications in fields such as Management, Libraries, Cultural Leadership, or the GLAM sector. If you don’t have these qualifications but have experience and demonstrated effectiveness in relevant fields.
- Strong customer service ethic.
