Manager and Advisors Local Outcomes - Ref 24
Manager – Local Outcomes Full Time Two Years Fixed Term position
Up to three Advisors/Senior Advisors – Local Outcomes – Two Years Fixed Term positions
There’s a lot going on in local government, and here at Kapiti Coast District Council we are working to deliver a strong, sustainable future – Toitu Kapiti. We are creating a new team to focus on Local Outcomes and we are looking for a Manager and up to three Advisors/Senior Advisors. This team will work to identify and deliver local initiatives that help achieve the outcomes and goals Council develops and agrees with the community. This is localism in action - getting to know our people, identifying their needs and opportunities, and using your skills to make things happen.
These roles are expected to contribute to the Council’s focus on growing resilient and connected communities that are well supported to respond to the big issues and opportunities they face.
As a member of our Local Outcomes team you will facilitate effective and active relationships with the community, external stakeholders and internal council teams. You’ll be a key influencer and relationship manager providing innovative thought leadership to improve and support organisational capability to deliver effective work programs, projects and service delivery across the range of council activities. As a key “front face” of Council within a ward or community, you’ll look for opportunities to increase community participation in the Council’s work.
It goes without saying that you have excellent time management skills, have superb relationship management skills, knowledge of relevant central government policies and programs, political sensitivity, and good judgment with a flexible, adaptable and pragmatic approach. As the manager of this new team you’ll demonstrate effective people leadership qualities and skills and lead the team to help delivery on the Council’s focus for growing resilient and connected communities. Most importantly you’ll have a real passion for working with and supporting our Kapiti communities.
The successful applicants will need to undergo the usual pre-employment checks, including drug and alcohol testing, police, criminal history and credit checks. Please note you must be eligible to work in New Zealand.
