About the role
The Kāpiti Coast District Council is looking for a motivated individual to join our Development Control Team as an RMA Compliance Officer. This role will provide an opportunity for someone with a passion for customer service to use their problem solving and investigative skills. As a RMA Compliance Officer, you will help people navigate the law and ensure requirements are met under both the RMA and Council’s Enforcement Policy. The role involves proactively inspecting expressway projects currently constructed as well as being involved in the consenting process for future expressway projects. We are experiencing a large amount of growth in our District and have complex residential developments which require officers to monitor construction to ensure good outcomes for the community and future owners.
Skills and Experience
We have a focus on improving our practices so we are after someone who has a good eye for detail and a strong work ethic as well as:
- proven work experience as RMA compliance/enforcement or related field with an understanding of both Resource Management Act and compliance enforcement and monitoring processes
- ability to empower applicants using well developed communication skills with the ability to explain complex requirements in a simple way
- sound investigation skills
- effective interpersonal skills and a demonstrated commitment to customer service and the ability to work with a wide range of people
