Paekākāriki

Paekākāriki is seen as the creative hub of our district. With our projects in and around the village, our focus is on supporting its unique character and feel, which protecting it for future generations. Historical projects have included the 2006–11 general upgrade to the main street including street furniture.

Paekākāriki seawall

The seawall on Paekākāriki Beach, which has been in place for 38 years, is to be replaced. The current seawall has deteriorated to the point where it has needed regular maintenance for a number of years and would require a major upgrade to continue to effectively protect The Parade and other public infrastructure.
