Kapiti Speed Limits Review
The Kāpiti Coast District Council's districtwide review of Kāpiti roads has now been completed. These reviews were carried out in response to public requests for particular roads to have their speed limits reviewed by Council.
Stage 1 began in February 2018. The new speed limits came into effect week of 13 August 2018, when signage was put up. More information can be found below under 'speed limit review stage 1'.
Stage 2 was carried out in early 2019 and covered the review of the speed limits on the remaining 56 rural roads and in three village centres. Following community consultation this stage is now complete, and councillors have made the decision to implement speed limit changes on 47 rural roads and in the three village centres. The new speeds come into effect on Monday 15 July 2019.
