Drainage work to complete Mazengarb Reserve field upgrade

15 Jan 2024, 10:02 AM

Work to complete an upgrade to the drainage system at the Mazengarb Reserve playing fields is kicking off this week to future proof the surface for many years of sporting endeavour.

Half of the field had drainage installed in recent years. Completing the remaining section means the whole ground will offer a great playing surface with fewer cancellations due to bad weather and flooding.

The work includes installing a piped system and re-establishing drainage lines. With regular maintenance it will last at least 30 years.

It will take around two weeks for the system to be installed and during this time site will be closed.

While grass retakes along the drainage lines the park will remain closed for use as a sports field but will be open for casual use and walking.
