The National Policy Statement on Urban Development Capacity (NPS UDC) was introduced by the Ministry for the Environment in 2016 and requires local authorities to assess housing and business demand and capacity across the district. The purpose of this work is to ensure the Council and community have a good understanding of housing and business trends and demands. Kāpiti Coast District Council, along with the other urban territorial authorities in the Wellington region, has been identified as a medium growth district. This requires that we provide specific reports to inform our community.
The Kāpiti Coast District Council Monitoring Report for September 2017 was the first quarterly report that implements Policy PB6 of the NPS UDC.
Subsequent quarterly monitoring reports can be found below:
September 2018 - includes quarterly and annual update
More information on the NPS UDC is available from the Ministry for the Environment.
