We’re on the lookout for a creative, proactive Digital Content and Engagement Advisor who thrives on storytelling, collaboration and delivering meaningful content across multiple channels. If you’re excited about using words, images and video to bring local stories to life and create stronger connections between Council and community, we’d love to hear from you.

About the role

In this role, you’ll be a key part of our Content and Channels team, producing content that engages, informs and inspires. You’ll:

  • Create impactful storytelling content (copy, imagery, video) for our websites, social media, e-newsletters and campaigns.
  • Help plan, produce and manage digital advertising (e.g. Meta, Google Ads) to support campaigns, events and consultations.
  • Work with the Social Media Lead to respond to online conversations and build positive engagement.
  • Support the ongoing development of our digital channels, including optimising content for accessibility, usability and reach.
  • Use analytics and insights to measure success and continuously improve how we connect with our community.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Council to share stories and highlight the mahi that matters most to our district.

About you | He kōrero mōu

You’re a digital communicator with strong storytelling skills, creative eye and a passion for connecting people with their place.

You’ll bring:

  • Proven ability to create engaging content across digital channels (web, social, video, newsletters, campaigns).
  • Excellent writing and editing skills – clear, concise, and audience-focused.
  • Experience producing and managing digital campaigns, including paid advertising.
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms, social media business tools and digital accessibility.
  • Skills with design and editing tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, video editing).
  • A collaborative approach, strong relationship skills, and a positive, can-do attitude.
