Lead the magic behind the Kāpiti Coast Art Trail and help shape our creative story.

We are looking for a highly organised and community‑minded Coordinator to lead the successful delivery of the annual Kāpiti Coast Art Trail. In this role, you will manage the full project lifecycle—from planning and coordination through to promotion and on-the-ground delivery.

You will play an important role in strengthening the arts sector by providing guidance, information, and practical support to participating Kāpiti Coast artists. Working closely with our relevant Council teams, your aim is to maximise benefits for artists, visitors, and local communities, while also seeking funding opportunities to support long‑term financial sustainability.

This is a fixed term role until December 2026, working 20 hours per week.

He kōrero mōu | About you

To excel in this role, you will have effective interpersonal skills with a demonstrated commitment to customer service.

You’ll also bring strong knowledge of and experience in:

  • 5+ years relevant experience in project management, administration, large event delivery. 
  • Willingness to and capability for working with a wide range of people within and outside the organisation. 
  • Knowledge of arts is beneficial, but not essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective professional working relationships with all key stakeholders, including with other council staff members based on a collaborative, collegial and cooperative working style. 
  • Understanding and awareness of tikanga Māori and Māori perspectives.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to work effectively without supervision and collaboratively as an effective team member.  
  • Holder of a current and valid NZ Drivers’ licence.
