To deliver on the commitments within our renewed Partnership Agreement, (Te Whakaminenga o Kapiti He Whakaaetanga Hononga), we are seeking an exceptional Manager to lead a dedicated team of advisors.  

This pivotal role will focus on nurturing and strengthening relationships, transforming partnership principles into meaningful action, championing Te Tiriti o Waitangi, skilfully navigating complex cultural and operational landscapes, and driving sustainable positive outcomes for all parties.

Hononga ā-iwi are Councils Iwi Partnerships team and embrace the role of upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the principles of the renewed Partnership Agreement – between mana whenua and Council.  

Reporting to the Kaihautū Hononga ā-Iwi and working jointly with other Senior Leaders, you will be a member of Hononga ā-Iwi leadership team.

About you | He kōrero mōu 

To excel in this role, you will need and bring strong knowledge of and experience in Te Ao Māori, iwi governance structures, Te Tiriti o Waitangi frameworks, relationship management with tangata whenua, partnership development and implementation, cultural protocol and tikanga, stakeholder engagement across diverse communities, and strategic planning within the required contexts.
