Are you passionate about making a meaningful impact in our community through community funding and partnerships? We’re seeking a forward-thinking and experienced individual to take a lead role in shaping the future of our grant funding initiatives.

This is a 12-month fixed term employment to undertake a review of funding distributed to the community via the Customer and Community Group. The review will include engaging with relevant community organisations and Council teams to provide staged recommendations across the year. Success wlll include improved effectiveness and efficiencies in our grant processes improved impact for community funding.

Skills and Experience

  • 10+ years relevant experience in community grants roles grants administration, strategic advice, impact and evaluation, or equivalent.

  • Demonstrated experience providing strategic grants advice.

  • Experience working with the community and social sector and philanthropic funders.

  • Experience undertaking reviews would be beneficial.

  • Demonstrated use of a specialist grants platform.

  • Effective interpersonal skills with a demonstrated commitment to customer service and willingness to and capability for working with a wide range of people within and outside the organisation.

  • Grant writing and proposal development experience.

  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal and the demonstrated ability to lead, influence and negotiate grant management effectively.

  • High level analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills.

  • An inclusive work style and ability to work supportively and collaboratively with a high level of energy, enthusiasm and initiative.

  • Demonstrated effective time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise work in order to meet deadlines.

  • Demonstrated understanding and familiarity with project management processes and procedures.

  • Relevant experience with financial management.

  • Demonstrated competence and familiarity with Information Technology and the ability to learn new systems and processes.

  • Holder of a current and valid NZ Drivers’ licence.
