You will be one in a pool of Team Leader Lifeguards reporting to the Operations Manager. You will be rostered in teams to work a cyclical roster between the pools (Coastlands Aquatic Centre, Otaki Pool and Waikanae Pool – seasonal).
When on duty you will lead and organize your team, manage water quality, liaise with our frontline, contractors, conduct ‘in service training’. You’ll also manage and report on incidents, ensure the facility has the highest of standards for supervision, health and safety, and customer service.
Salary range for this role is $67,700 - $75,200 per annum pro-rata.

To excel in this role, ideally you will:
- Hold a current poolside lifeguard qualification and relevant NZQA water quality management unit standards. Expired qualifications may also be considered but will be required to undergo renewal.
- Holds a current NZ Certificate Senior Lifeguard L3 and working towards Level 4 OR relevant experience as a Senior Lifeguard.
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Possess skills and experience (or proven aptitude) in aquatic plant operation and poolside supervision.
- Be capable of dealing with the public in a confident, calm and friendly manner and dealing with emergency situations.
- Be able to work all shifts of the roster – weekdays, weekends, day and late shifts.
- Effective interpersonal skills with a demonstrated commitment to customer service and willingness to and capability for dealing with a wide range of people within and outside the organisation.
- Current and valid New Zealand Full Drivers’ licence.
