Are you an experienced (3-5 years+) senior policy guru who’s after a change, and wanting to broaden your experience? Does working in the community to make a difference ‘ring your bell’? This might be role you’re looking for.
The Strategy and Policy Team, housed in Council’s Strategy and Growth Group, plays a key role in managing policy activity across the Kāpiti Coast District Council. From policies and bylaws to strategic frameworks, our work ensures the district grows sustainably and inclusively.
As a key member of the team, you will have the opportunity to lead a range of complex policy projects, as well as supporting the development of policy practice and processes across the team and Council. You’ll help turn ideas into clear, workable policies and bylaws that make life better for the community. You’ll be involved in drafting, reviewing, and advising on policies that support everyday services and long-term plans, and your work will help ensure decisions are practical, fair, and future-focused.
He kōrero mōu | About you
We are looking for people with experience in a policy role, or equivalent analytical role, with experience in local or central government or working with local or central government preferred. We are also interested in hearing from people who enjoy working through ambiguity, and taking a flexible and agile approach to work.
