Apply for a building consent or PIM

Apply for a building consent or project information memorandum (PIM) under Section 33 or 45 of the Building Act 2004.

Apply for a certificate for public use (CPU)

Apply for a certificate for public use as an assurance that a building (or part of a building) is safe for the public to use while construction is taking place.

Apply for a certificate of acceptance (COA)

A certificate of acceptance provides limited assurance that Council is satisfied unconsented building work complies with the Building Act 2004.

Apply for a code compliance certificate (CCC)

Gaining a code compliance certificate (CCC) is the final step in the building consent process. The CCC confirms that Council is satisfied the completed works comply with the building consent.

Apply for a discretionary exemption for any building work

Apply for an exemption to undertake low-risk building work at minimal cost.

Apply for fire protection connection/alteration

Apply for a new commercial fire service or fire sprinkler connection, or a change to an existing fire protection connection.

A compliance schedule lists the specified systems in a building, and the procedures required to keep them in good working order.
