Aquatics
If you're looking for exercise, recreation or swimming lessons, look no further! We have three pools in Kāpiti – Coastlands Aquatic Centre, Ōtaki Pool and the famous outdoor Waikanae Pool – as well as splashpads at Marine Gardens and Haruātai Park.
There are events and programmes for all levels throughout summer, so make sure you pop in for a splash!
Libraries
Summer's the perfect time to dive into a great book. Our four public libraries, at Paraparaumu, Waikanae, Ōtaki and Paekākāriki, are part of SMART Libraries, Aotearoa New Zealand’s only public and tertiary library collaboration. This means our members can borrow items from many libraries across the lower North Island.
Our libraries offer more than books though – there are regular events and workshops, eBooks and eAudiobooks, a learning centre, computers, newspapers and magazines, and music!
