Kaitawa Reserve
Kaitawa Reserve offers a fantastic mix of play, nature, and relaxation, making it an ideal destination for families. The reserve features a playground, a basketball half-court, and picnic tables, ensuring there's something for everyone. As you explore, you’ll find plenty of native planting that showcases the area’s natural beauty, with over 43,000 native trees, shrubs, and grasses having been planted since 1996 by Kāpiti Mana Forest & Bird. A scenic path leads to the Wharemauku Stream, where you can enjoy a walk to Hookway Grove Playground or up the hill to the Paraparaumu water tank for stunning panoramic views of the Kāpiti Coast.

For those who enjoy walking, Kaitawa Reserve offers scenic paths that lead to places like Hookway Grove Playground and the Paraparaumu water tank. From the water tank, you can take in breathtaking panoramic views of the Kāpiti Coast, making the reserve not only a great place to visit but also a wonderful spot to experience the region’s natural beauty.
Unfortunately, the fraying cable on the flying fox doesn’t meet NZ Standards and is beyond repair.
But the good news is we’re working with specialist suppliers to ensure a safe and compliant fox is up and flying soon!
