Te Pare o Mātangi Reserve
Te Pare o Mātangi Reserve is a tranquil haven located close to the shops on the Ōtaki old main highway, making it a convenient stop for those passing through or looking to relax in a peaceful environment. This reserve was handed back to the Council following the opening of the Peka Peka to Ōtaki Expressway in 2023, offering a delightful space for visitors to take a break, enjoy nature, and watch local wildlife, including eels. The reserve features a well-maintained cycle- and walkway that runs through it, providing a great opportunity for leisurely walks or bike rides in a scenic setting.
