Now in its 13th year, Māoriland is the world’s largest Indigenous film festival - a vibrant gathering of filmmakers, artists, rangatahi, and audiences from Aotearoa and across the international Indigenous world. Set in the heart of Ōtaki, just 45 minutes north of Wellington, Māoriland is a community-based celebration of Indigenous storytelling connecting film and arts experiences. The festival strengthens global creative connections while remaining firmly rooted in the tribal lands of Ngāti Raukawa ki te Tonga. The Māoriland Hub (68 Main Street, Ōtaki) serves as a year-round centre for Indigenous screen excellence and becomes the beating heart of the festival during March.
