The Summer Reading Programme is for primary school-aged children (Years 1-8) and helps to keep kids enjoying books and engaged with reading over the long summer school break. Most of all it's fun!
Report in from 31 December - 25 January
Call in at your local library to register and pick up your activity card. Then choose some library books and start reading. You'll need to report in to us between 31 December and 25 January by talking to a librarian or Volunteen, drawing a picture or writing a review. The programme is free.
All children who complete the reading tasks on time will be invited to a Finale Party at Waikanae Pools where they will be presented with a certificate and a brand new book to keep.
We look forward to meeting you and hearing about what you are reading over the summer!
