Food
Kāpiti has a thriving food scene, from restaurants, cafes and specialty stores, to our amazing farmers' markets. We can help you find out what you need to do to get your business up and running, or to make sure your fundraising stall meets all the requirements it needs to.

Registration
Setting up a new business is exciting! We know there can seem to be a few hoops to jump through, so check out the information on this page, and give us a call if you have any questions.

Verification
Registered businesses need to show that they’re meeting the requirements of their food control plan (FCP), or the national programme (NP) they registered under. This is done by a verifier, through a set verification process.

Food stalls
Kāpiti has amazing farmers' and weekend markets – we all love supporting local. Our top-quality stallholders follow important guidelines to be as safe as they are, and the Council is keen to help new food stallholders understand the rules, too.
