Community venues for hire
Council has a number of buildings available for community use. These buildings provide venues for residents to meet for leisure, recreation, sport, cultural, social, and educational activities and include community centres, memorial halls, a rural hall, sporting pavilions and meeting rooms. Bookings can be made online, by phone or email; see our Hall hire charges for fee information.
Book online
All Kāpiti Coast District Council’s hireable community halls and meeting spaces can now be booked online. The easy-to-use portal allows you to quickly search venues and check their availability before making a booking.
All bookings must be made 7 days before the hire date.

Swipe access cards
We have recently installed new access card readers at the main entrances of all Council Community Halls, with the exception of Paraparaumu College.
Hirers will need to use an activated access card to enter the building during their booked hire period. The access card will provide access through the main entrance and, where applicable, to other areas included in your booking. Existing keys for storage areas remain unchanged.
Regular hall users can collect their new access cards from any of the following locations:
-
Paraparaumu Service Centre (Rimu Road)
-
Waikanae Library, Service Centre
-
Ōtaki Library, Service Centre
The access card system enhances the security and privacy of our facilities by ensuring access is only available during the hirer's booked times. Users will not be able to enter a building outside of their scheduled booking.
If your swipe card is lost or damaged, please contact us as soon as possible so we can deactivate it. A replacement fee of $30 applies before a new card can be issued.
Email our bookings team if you have any questions.
