Districtwide Facility Hire Remission Grants
The Districtwide Facility Hire Remission Grant helps groups or individuals by providing financial support for using Council-owned facilities, like halls or aquatic facilities, for community events..
This programme supports events that benefit the whole district, not just one specific community.
Get your application in by the closing date, 5pm, Tuesday 12 November 2024.
Applications
The maximum grant you can get is $1,000. In the 2024/25 financial year, a total of $3,300 is available. Applications for this funding are looked at once a year.

Timeline
- Tuesday 1 October 2024 – Applications open
- 5pm, Tuesday 12 November 2024 – Applications close
- Tuesday 26 November 2024 – Grants Allocation Subcommittee reviews applications and makes final decisions.
- Wednesday 27 November 2024 – All applicants will be notified of the results.
Accountability reports
Successful applicants must also submit an accountability report within six months of receiving the grant. This report needs to show how the money was spent, and that it was used for the purpose it was given.

Criteria
Eligible organisations/individuals
- Applicants must live in the Kāpiti Coast District.
- Eligible organisations include those that provide community, cultural or sports activities for the whole district.
Applications can be considered for the remission of facility hire:
- within the current financial year of the project
- for “worthy causes” in line with Council policy, meaning all rental remissions must be funded as grants from approved budgets controlled by Council or community boards.
Ineligible purposes
Grants are usually not considered after the event has happened. Applications must be received by Council before the event takes place.
Maximum grant
The maximum grant you can receive is $1,000.
