Come and join our Connected Communities team for a whole year, covering maternity leave!
We are looking for a proactive and community-focused Advisor who is passionate about people and place.
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to inclusive, welcoming spaces and support community wellbeing across the Kāpiti Coast.
In this key position, you will support the delivery of Connected Communities initiatives, build relationships with community groups, and help our focus on inclusion, partnerships and community voice.
You will work alongside a supportive and collaborative Connected Communities team, and report to the Team Leader Connected Communities.

Nā tōu rourou | What you will bring
To excel in this role, you will have a passion for community development and strong relationship-building skills, and hold a current and valid NZ Driver Licence.
You’ll also bring strong knowledge of and experience in:
Located on the picturesque Kāpiti Coast, KCDC plays a pivotal role in shaping the community and environment of our region. With around 480 employees, we deliver services spanning urban planning, infrastructure, environmental stewardship, and community wellbeing—working together to create a sustainable future for our diverse communities.

- Building and maintaining relationships with community groups and stakeholders
- Supporting community-led initiatives and activities
- preparing and writing clear reports, briefings and insights
- supporting or administering grants and funding processes, including advising community groups and managing applications
- Understanding of inclusive practice and accessibility needs
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with a wide range of people
- Working collaboratively within a team environment
- Being adaptable and responding to changing community needs
