K Gurunathan elected Mayor of Kāpiti Coast District

Preliminary election results show K Gurunathan has been elected Mayor of the Kāpiti Coast District for the 2016-2019 triennium. 

He is elected ahead of next highest polling candidates Ross Church and Gavin Welsh. 

The preliminary results show a voter turnout of 18,295 - 47.26 percent of eligible voters.
