Local stars shine at regional athletics in Masterton

Published 18 Dec 2017

Last week 99 local primary school athletes from nine different schools represented Kāpiti at the Regional Athletics in Masterton.

Kāpiti Coast District Council Primary Schools Sports Coordinator Shelley Ashton says the event was one of our most successful yet.

"We had some really great results from our Ōtaki Kāpiti Primary School representatives, and it was also the first time we had year four's take part."

"Masterton were great hosts and put on a professional and well-organised event with over 1050 primary school students taking part. Up against the best of the best, our team gave it their all and didn't disappoint. The results speak for themselves. Well done, not only to our placegetters, but to every single one of our Ōtaki Kāpiti Athletes who took part in this regional event."

"We would also like to thank Zak Feuanati, Brian Seymour and the team at Paraparaumu Track and Field for their help and support in making this happen for the kids."
