Mayor's Taskforce for Jobs creating tangible results

9 Dec 2025

The Mayors Taskforce for Jobs is a nationwide network that supports young rangatahi aged 16–24 into employment, education, training, and other positive activities within their communities.

In its second year here, we’ve had 12 successful placements in the food, building, and health sectors, hospitality, customer services, animal care, and even with us at Council. Each placement represents real pathways for young people, some who have gone on to secure employment right here in Kāpiti (such as Izzy De Guzman pictured with Mayor Holborow and the team at Kāpiti Dental Centre)

Congratulations to those who took the leap and did the mahi, and to the wonderful businesses who have helped these young people develop a solid foundation for their future.
