Ōtaki works resume

13 Jan 2026

Following the Christmas break, Rahui Road has closed again for approximately six to eight weeks. During this time, crews will complete kerb and drainage works around the new roundabout, finish the final two wastewater manholes, and reseal the road. Quality testing of the new pipeline along Mill Road will continue.

Our summer chip sealing programme is also underway, with road surface improvements for Waitohu Valley Road, Riverbank Road and Aotaki Street.

On Waitohu Valley Road, work has begun on drinking water pipeline, linking the existing and new Ōtaki reservoirs, replacing ageing infrastructure, and supporting future growth.
