Aōtaki Street Skatepark
Located at the south end of Aōtaki Street in Ōtaki, this family-friendly park offers something for all ages. It features the Kāpiti Coast’s only ‘Learn to Ride’ track, where young children can safely bike and scooter around, guided by road signs and markings that mimic a real road environment. For those with more advanced skills, there’s a skatepark, providing a perfect space for older kids and skaters to show off their moves. The park also includes a playground for younger children, a designated picnic area for family outings, and toilet facilities for convenience.
Why it's special
A safe space for learning to ride
Kāpiti’s only ‘Learn to Ride’ track is a key feature of the park, offering a safe, controlled environment where young children can learn how to bike and scooter. With road signs and markings guiding them along the course, kids can develop essential skills while having fun, all within a secure space designed just for them.
Skatepark for older kids and skaters
The skatepark is perfect for older children and more experienced skaters looking for an exciting challenge. Whether they’re on skateboards, rollerblades, or scooters, the park provides plenty of space and ramps to keep them entertained. It’s a great spot for teens and young adults to show off their skills.
