Māoriland Red Carpet Party with special guest MELODOWNZ Step onto the red carpet and join us for one of the most anticipated nights of Māoriland Film Festival 2026. The annual Māoriland Red Carpet Party is a celebration of the filmmakers, artists and audiences who gather in Ōtaki from across Aotearoa and around the world to share Indigenous stories through film. It’s a night of glamour, music and kanikani to close out the festival in style. This year we’re excited to welcome special guest performer MELODOWNZ. Born and raised in Avondale, MELODOWNZ stands at the forefront of Aotearoa hip hop. With a decade-strong catalogue rooted in classic rap fundamentals and fused with R&B, Pacific soul and experimental production, he has taken his unmistakable West Auckland sound from local stages to international audiences. Of Ngāpuhi and Samoan descent, his music carries the stories and frequencies of both cultures, grounding his sound in whakapapa while pushing the genre forward.
