Hosted by Pōneke multidisciplinary artist Nikita Tu-Bryant, this mini-series showcases KITA songs, as well as collaborating with guests to this NZ Music Month celebration. x Bookings and pre-sales are recommended due to the intimate nature of the RaumatiSocialClub x FRI 28 MAY 8:30pm Part 1 KITA (DJ SET) Before KITA came to exist as the power trio they are known in Aotearoa, KITA existed as Ed Zuccollo (producer aka ZUKE) and Nikita Tu-Bryant, playing around making beats in Ed's Room in Newtown. Ed and Nikita used to play with alternating drummers until Rick Cranson became their full time drummer for the KITA trio we now know. Friday night come experience the KITA DJ Set (no drums) where they share some songs written in this context that are now seen performed as the live band, as well as some other works in the mix that are not yet performed by KITA. SAT 29 MAY 8:30pm Part 2 KITA X TYSON SMITH KITA played a sold out show at the RSC the last time they played Kāpiti, with rave reviews. Come see them share the stage with legendary guitarist Tyson Smith. TYSON SMITH Musician, songwriter, and DJ - Tyson has worked as a guitarist with acts ranging from the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra to vocalist Hollie Smith. Now pursuing his own original music, both solo and with collaborative projects including psych-world-surf band The Electrons. His original music combines elements of rock, blues, folk, electronic, world music and freeform improvisation. In 2025 was the 10 year anniversary of Smith's album Hollow Tree, join them on Saturday to experience Tyson playing some of his album with power-trio KITA, as well as Tyson bringing his twang to the KITA set.
