Kaumātua Kapa Haka Festival 2026

Tākiri o Te Ata Kaumātua Kapa Haka Festival is an annual celebration honouring our kaumātua, where they take centre stage as both performers and treasured guests. It is a day for all generations to come together in aroha, culture, and connection. Piki mai, kake mai, tau mai rā. Enjoy powerful performances from local Kaumātua Kapa Haka rōpū, joined by youth performers, choirs, dancers, big bands, soloists, and more, all gathered to celebrate and uplift our kaumātua. This is a free community event, and all are welcome. The day begins with a pōwhiri at 8.00am, followed by performances from 9.00am–3.30pm. Also on site: Hauora (health) checks Rongoā Māori (traditional healing) Toi Māori (Māori art) Bring your whānau and friends and be part of a day of culture, connection, and celebration of our kaumātua. Proudly supported by: Kāpiti College, Kāpiti Coast District Council, Creative Communities, Tū Ora Compass Health, Raumati Community Board, Waikanae Community Board, Ōtaki Community Board, Paraparaumu Community Board, and Paekākāriki Community Board.
