Our Sportsgrounds team are busy getting our fields ready for the summer season. All fields are currently closed for renovation and will reopen by 19 October 2026.
Winter sports ground closure updates
During winter (April to September), if we close a sports field during the week, you can find out by:
- checking this page for updates by 2.30pm on business days
- downloading Antenno, our free mobile app; add your favourite parks as 'your place' to get our winter sports ground closure notifications sent right to your phone
- calling our 24-hour sports info line 04 296 4720 or our call centre 0800 486 486.
There are no sports ground closure notifications over the summer months.

For weekend closures, contact your sports club or association, or listen to Newstalk ZB cancellations.
Check which fields are open for play
We try to keep our sports grounds open all the time, but sometimes we have to close them during the week because of bad weather, maintenance, fixing up the sports fields, or when sports clubs book them.
