Changes to your water rates

We’re in the process of updating our rates invoicing system. As a result, we changed the way we invoice your water rates on 1 July 2025.

Water invoices now only show your Districtwide Water Supply Volumetric Rate – a quarterly water bill with just the charges for the volume of water you’ve consumed.

Your Districtwide Water Supply Fixed Rate is now included in your quarterly combined general rates invoice.

Due dates for payment

Due dates for payment of your Districtwide Water Supply Volumetric Rate can be seen in the table below.

You will notice the due dates for the first two invoices of the 2025/26 year are the same. This is a one-off amendment required as we transition to the new invoicing system. We apologise for any confusion this may cause.

Red boxes highlight areas with the same due and penalty dates for water meter invoicing. Paraparaumu (Jul-25) and Raumati (Oct-25) are due 19 Nov 2025, penalty 20 Nov. Ōtaki (Aug-25) and Peka Peka (Nov-25) are due 6 Jan 2026, penalty 7 Jan. Waikanae Beach (Sep-25) and Nikau Valley (Dec-25) are due 20 Jan 2026, penalty 21 Jan.

What this means for you

If you usually pay your water rates by direct debit, the value of both invoices will be debited on the due date. It will be the same amount as you would pay over the two periods, but in one payment.

If you would like to pay the first of the two invoices before the due date, you can do this in the usual ways.

Your options are

  • Pay both invoices by direct debit on the due date.
  • Pay the first invoice early using the other methods listed on your invoice.
