Awa Tapu Cemetery covers 4.2 hectares. About half of the site is developed, with 2.1 hectares of hill land overlooking the lawn area.

Awa Tapu is the second cemetery in Kāpiti to have a crematorium.

Burial plots

You can choose a single or double burial plot.

Plots are also grouped by the type of memorial:

  • lawn
  • monumental.

Ashes plots

Garden and monumental plots available.

A cremation plot can hold two or more interments of ashes. The number it can hold depends on the size of the memorial plaque.

You can also inter ashes in an existing family plot.
