Recycling kerbside materials (i.e. bottles, paper, cardboard, and plastics 1,2 and 5) is free, but transfer stations charge for waste disposal. The Zero Waste sites, green-waste and transfer stations are cashless; only card and account payments are accepted.
- Sort your usable/accepted items and drop off for reuse at Otaihanga Zero Waste (fees may apply) or for timber only at Ōtaki Zero Waste.
- Separate out your recyclables in advance - check what recycling items are accepted at the transfer stations.
- Separate your green waste from the rest.
- Remember to transport your waste safely by securing and covering the load.
- We take general rubbish, kerbside recycling, and e-waste on days that Otaihanga Zero Waste is closed.
