Electoral wards
Following a representation review in 2021 and the Local Government Commission determination in April 2022, a fifth community board representing Raumati will be added to existing boards for Ōtaki, Waikanae, Paraparaumu and Paekākāriki.
The four wards (Ōtaki, Waikanae, Paraparaumu and Paekākāriki–Raumati) have not changed, except for adjustments to some ward boundaries, which primarily affect the Te Horo and Raumati communities. Changes to the boundaries are:
- between Ōtaki and Waikanae wards, meaning 970 people formerly part of the Ōtaki ward, and including the Te Horo community, will now become part of the Waikanae ward; this includes people living south of the new boundary, which heads inland along Te Horo Beach Road and School Road
- between Paraparaumu and Paekākāriki–Raumati wards, meaning 2,280 people formerly part of the Paekākāriki–Raumati ward, mainly in the Raumati community, will now be part of the Paraparaumu ward; the new boundary runs inland from the coast along Tui Road, Rata Road, Conifer Court and Raumati Road to join up with the old State Highway, and the new eastern boundary for the Paekākāriki–Raumati ward follows State Highway 1, with the inland area to the east of State Highway 1 becoming part of the Paraparaumu ward.
