 Te tūranga | The Opportunity

Are you an experienced Compliance Officer, or do you have proven regulatory experience and care about the environment?

Come and join our busy and effective Compliance team! We’re looking for an experienced and motivated person to join our team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive contribution to environmental compliance on the Kapiti Coast.

In this key position, you will work with neighbours, contractors, developers and other professionals to ensure that good growth includes positive social and environmental outcomes. You will need to be able to interpret the rules, read building and development plans and understand how to apply conditions and standards. You will respond to complaints about environmental harm, so you will need to be able to think on your feet and work collaboratively with people to turn things around.

You will work alongside compliance officers (RMA and Bylaws), Council’s consenting and legal teams, and report to an experienced and enthusiastic Environmental Standards Manager. Together as a team you will ensure the day-to-day running of environmental compliance goes smoothly in the district and that the Kapiti Coast environment is maintained as we continue to grow.

Nā tōu rourou | What you will bring

You’ll also bring strong knowledge of and experience in:
  • Working with environmental legislation, Plans and Bylaws
  • Problem solving
  • Utilising the right tool at the right time
  • Working with people from a range of backgrounds
  • Achieving positive outcomes with a strong solution focus
If you’re excited to work in a community focused, energised and enthusiastic team environment, we’d love to hear from you.
