The Experience Coordinator drives venue bookings and delivers exceptional events and customer experiences at Te Ara Whetū.

Are you an experienced venue coordinator, events professional, customer experience specialist, hospitality leader, or have proven success building relationships and growing the use of community or commercial spaces? 
 
Join the Te Ara Whetu team! We require an energetic, customer focused professional who thrives on building relationships, creating opportunities, and delivering exceptional experiences. 
 
This is a fantastic opportunity to help establish Te Ara Whetū as a sought after destination for meetings, events, workshops and community activities. In this key position, you will drive venue bookings and revenue opportunities, coordinate seamless event delivery, and create outstanding experiences for customers from initial enquiry through to event completion. You will work alongside a passionate and supportive team and report to the Hub Lead, Te Ara Whetū.  
  
Together, you will help create an exceptional library and hub experience for our community. As the key contact for our bookable spaces, you will actively build relationships with businesses and organisations, identify opportunities to increase bookings and revenue, and ensure every event is professionally coordinated and successfully delivered. 
  
Help bring Te Ara Whetū to life and create experiences that keep people coming back. Join the brand new team at Kāpiti Coast District Council's first purpose built contemporary library hub and play a key role in establishing Te Ara Whetū as a vibrant destination for community, business and events.  
 

Nā tōu rourou | What you will bring 

 
To excel in this role, you will have experience in customer service, hospitality, venue coordination, events, sales, marketing or relationship management, and hold a current and valid NZ Driver licence.  
  
You’ll also bring strong knowledge of and experience of:  
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, businesses and stakeholders.
  • Experience identifying opportunities and converting enquiries into confirmed bookings.  
  • Ability to coordinate events from concept through to delivery, ensuring an exceptional customer experience.   
  • Strong networking skills and confidence engaging with a wide range of people.  
  • Experience promoting services, venues, events or programmes to grow participation and utilisation.  
  • Ability to identify opportunities that increase venue bookings, revenue and community engagement.  
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple bookings, events and competing priorities.  
  • A proactive, solutions focused approach and a passion for exceeding customer expectations.
