About the role
Your key responsibilities include:- Leading enterprise data and information governance frameworks.
- Overseeing information lifecycle management, records management and compliance obligations.
- Managing Council's data warehouse and data lake environments.
- Driving data quality, reporting standards and business intelligence capability.
- Leading the development and implementation of Council's responsible AI governance framework.
- Providing expert advice on information management, data governance, privacy and AI adoption.
- Partnering across the organisation to identify opportunities for innovation, efficiency and improved decision-making.
- Building capability through guidance, training and support.
We're looking for a collaborative and future-focused leader who can combine strategic thinking with practical delivery. You will have:
- Significant leadership experience in data, analytics, information management, AI governance, digital transformation or a related field.
- Experience developing and implementing enterprise governance frameworks and operating models.
- Strong knowledge of data governance, information management, privacy and compliance requirements.
- Understanding of business intelligence, reporting, data visualisation and self-service analytics practices.
- Experience working with Microsoft technologies including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power BI, Power Platform, Microsoft Fabric, Purview and/or Copilot.
- Knowledge of responsible AI principles, governance and organisational adoption.
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- The ability to influence, coach and lead teams through change and innovation.
