Are you highly organised, detail-oriented, and passionate about supporting good governance and procurement excellence? We’re looking for a Procurement Coordinator to join our Procurement team and play a key role in ensuring Council’s procurement activities are efficient, compliant, and audit-ready.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a collaborative team that supports value-for-money outcomes for our communities while maintaining robust procurement systems, records, and processes. Based within Corporate Services and reporting to the Procurement Manager, you'll be the backbone of our procurement administration and coordination functions.
As Procurement Coordinator, you'll provide end-to-end coordination, administration, and governance support across Council's procurement activities. You'll be responsible for maintaining key procurement systems and registers, supporting internal stakeholders and suppliers, and helping ensure procurement processes are followed consistently across the organisation.
We're looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has exceptional organisational skills, and takes pride in maintaining accurate records and efficient processes.

Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and coordinating the central procurement inbox
- Maintaining the Gifts and Hospitality Declaration Register
- Administering Council's Supplier Hub and supporting supplier onboarding
- Coordinating contract approvals and contract administration through Datascape
- Managing tender administration through GETS (Government Electronic Tenders Service)
- Maintaining procurement conflict of interest registers and supporting probity processes
- Supporting procurement reporting, audits, reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Providing first-line advice and support to Council staff on procurement processes and systems.
We're looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has exceptional organisational skills, and takes pride in maintaining accurate records and efficient processes.
To be successful in this role you'll have:
- 3–5 years' experience in an administration, coordination, or similar support role
- Strong attention to detail and excellent record-keeping skills
- Experience managing multiple systems, workflows, and competing priorities
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- An understanding of confidentiality, governance, and probity requirements
- The ability to build positive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Experience in local government or the public sector
- Exposure to procurement or contract management systems
- Knowledge of New Zealand Government procurement principles.
