What’s happening in Kāpiti this week

Congratulations to the recipients of this year's King's Birthday Honours, including the following hard-working Kāpiti locals:
- Fergus Graham Brown from Waikanae, for services to the tourism industry.
- Susan Elizabeth Elliott from Ōtaki, for services to the arts and governance.
- Julia May Marshall from Waikanae, for services to children's literature.
We're proud to have such outstanding individuals doing great work across our district.
In other news, last week Council adopted the Annual Plan for 2025/26 and set the rates revenue rise at 6.9 percent, which is within the limit we set in our Long-term Plan.
And users of the Waikanae skatepark will want to read on for an important update about the rebuild of the skatepark.
