Applications are now open for the Māori Economic Development Fund

Kāpiti whānau, hapū, iwi, ngā mātāwaka and Māori businesses are invited to apply to the Māori Economic Development Fund, with $80,000 available in the 2026 contestable fund.

To be considered, projects must align with the Māori Economic Development Strategy and its priority themes of manaakitanga, kaitiakitanga or kotahitanga.

The Fund aims to support the growth of wealth and prosperity for Kāpiti Māori and is open to those starting out or in growth mode. It recognises the unique features of the Māori economy and acknowledges its importance as a growing part of the Aotearoa landscape.

Applications open on 9 February 2026 and close on Sunday 22 March 2026 at 5pm.
