Supplier Hub makes working with Council easier
2 Mar 2026
Kāpiti Coast District Council’s new Supplier Hub has increased the transparency of their tender opportunities and encourages more local suppliers to get involved.
Group Manager Corporate Services Mark de Haast says an external supplier portal has been transferred to the Council’s website, providing a one-stop shop for those wishing to work with the district council.
“The Supplier Hub includes new and upcoming tenders, alongside a supplier’s guide, health and safety advice, and information about our payment system,” says Mr de Haast.
“A new subscription service will allow suppliers to receive notices and expressions of interest for upcoming tender opportunities, as well as news and events such as contractors’ forums and bid readiness sessions.”
Suppliers will no longer need to log in to access information, making it faster and easier for suppliers to stay informed and participate in Council’s procurement processes.
“Council is a big business,” says Mr de Haast.
“With an annual average capital works programme of $70 million covering everything from roads, footpaths, and stormwater, wastewater, and drinking water networks to community facilities and parks and open spaces, our contractors and suppliers are a key part of helping us deliver for Kāpiti.
“Removing barriers means we’re providing equal opportunities for current and potential suppliers and that everyone can stay informed with minimal effort.
“It also means more timely updates for subscribers and a stronger, more direct connection with our work.
“We want to make the experience as simple as possible so that businesses feel it’s easier to engage with Council tenders.
“We’d love to see more local businesses put themselves forward for Council work.”
The Supplier Hub reflects Council’s commitment to transparency, accessibility, and strengthening connections with the local business community.
