TechWeek Kāpiti returns with practical ideas for local business

7 May 2026

TechWeek is back in Kāpiti this May, bringing a programme of events designed to help local businesses explore how technology is shaping the way we work, create and grow.

This year’s line-up focuses on real-world application, from understanding how AI can support day-to-day operations, to experimenting with tools and technologies that turn ideas into action. Whether you’re already working in tech or simply curious about what it could mean for your business, TechWeek offers a chance to learn, test and connect.

The week is anchored by ThinkTech Kāpiti on 20 May, a full-day event for founders, professionals and business leaders. The programme features speakers, panels and conversations with innovators working across AI, game development, aerospace, digital infrastructure and global markets, alongside practical workshops designed to spark new thinking.

For businesses looking to take a more hands-on approach, AI in Action with Ask Astro (19 May) offers practical guidance on applying AI to everyday business tasks, helping you identify where it fits and how to use it effectively.

MakerTech (18 May) explores 3D printing and “vibe coding”, giving founders and creators the tools to prototype ideas and bring concepts to life, while Future Innovators in the Makerspace (18 May) gives your kids a chance to get involved as well, with a hands-on session designed for young makers to explore and experiment with emerging tech.

TechWeek is about more than ideas – it’s about getting involved, testing possibilities and seeing what technology could look like in your own work.
