Girls Rock the Boys
St Peters Village Hall, Paekākāriki, Kapiti Coast
FRI 02 OCT 8:00 P.M. - 10:30 P.M.
Classic rock songs that made you invincible. Four powerhouse women on the mic. One kickass live band. We sold out Petone, which was a huge buzz. Paekākāriki is next. What happens when women take on the big, swaggering, stadium‑sized rock anthems that were never written with them in mind? A tribute - but also a joyful celebration of the music. Everyone knows those songs - the ones you belt in the car, the ones that must be played too loud, the ones you recognise from the very first riff. Whitesnake. Boston. Foreigner. Deep Purple. Journey. Rainbow. Led Zeppelin. Uriah Heep. The giants. But what no one expects is how they feel when powerhouse women take the mic. Girls Rock the Boys brings together a lineup of women with range, grit, soul, and the kind of stage presence that pulls you straight into the mosh pit. Behind them is a kickass live band built for exactly this music. These anthems were always big enough and wild enough to belong to anyone brave enough to claim them. So we have. The result is a show that’s nostalgic and fresh at the same time - and loud in all the right ways. Girls Rock the Boys is a celebration of musicianship, of women in rock and of the timeless songs that still shake the walls decades later. When women take the mic, the classics hit different. Experience it live with Ashley Hale-Durham, Georgie Sullivan, Jude Madill, and Julie Lamb leading the charge, backed by the stellar band: Andrew Richardson (drums), Matt Fitzpatrick (bass), Aslan Rowlands (guitar), and Duncan Haynes (keys). Early bird tickets $20. Door sales $30.
