Oil & Cold Wax Painting Workshop

Discover the exciting possibilities of oil and cold wax painting in this hands-on workshop, suitable for complete beginners as well as artists who want to build confidence and expand their skills with this versatile medium. Through a series of guided exercises, you’ll learn how to mix and apply oil and cold wax, build rich layered surfaces, create texture using a variety of tools, and explore mark making, revealing previous layers and other expressive techniques. The workshop focuses on creating abstract works, giving you the freedom to experiment, play and discover your own approach to the medium. You’ll work through a series of exercises designed to progressively build your understanding and confidence. By the end of the day, you’ll take home 6–8 original studies on oil paper, together with the knowledge and practical skills to continue exploring oil and cold wax painting at home. All materials and the use of professional tools are included. With a maximum of just 4 participants, this is a relaxed, supportive and personalised workshop where you’ll receive plenty of individual guidance. No previous experience is required — just bring your curiosity and a willingness to experiment.
