Soundscape Series: Michelle Scullion Quartet

Kāpiti composer and multi-instrumentalist Michelle Scullion makes a welcome return to live performance with MSQ – the Michelle Scullion Quartet – following an extended break after an accident in 2025. Joined by Robert Kingi on guitar, Elliott Fui’moana on bass and Cam Steel on drums, Michelle will present her World of Flutes programme: an evocative blend of jazz, funk, blues, atmospheric grooves and world music. Moving between concert, alto and bass flutes, Chinese bamboo flute, kōauau, vocals and percussion, Michelle brings a remarkable palette of sounds to music inspired by artists including Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis and Sérgio Mendes, alongside the quartet’s own distinctive musical colours. Opening act: Carys Ferguson (winner of the Kāpiti College Talent Quest 2026) About the Mostly Music Soundscape Series: A curated series of intimate live music experiences showcasing the depth, texture and emotion of sound. Each performance invites you to immerse yourself in a new soundscape, informed by genre, sonic craft, and music as an art form. Designed for music lovers who want more than a background soundtrack, this series celebrates live performance with a diverse range of acclaimed performers. Doors 7:30pm, with events starting at 8pm. These events will take place inside at The Bond Store, Paraparaumu and are seated with general admission. The Bond Store is located at 21 Birmingham Street, Paraparaumu. It operates as The Tasting Room which serves food and beverages.
