TRIPLE HARMONY - MUSIC FOR SIX HANDS
The Waikanae Music Society will close its 2026 Season with an unusual and entertaining concert for three musicians on one piano. The three highly accomplished pianists, known as “Triple Harmony”, are Italians Matteo Napoli and Flavia Villani, along with Brazilian Camila Oliveira. All three are based in New Zealand.
Although there are not many works composed specifically for six hands on one piano, there will be some original compositions for that combination in the concert - by Rachmaninoff, Czerny (Irish Airs) and Dutch classical composer Carel Fodor. Other works will include arrangements of popular opera music by Mozart (Marriage of Figaro), Rossini (Barber of Seville) and Bizet (Carmen) and to end the concert there will be some lively Spanish music by Manuel de Falla.
The concert, in the Waikanae Memorial Hall, will be at 2.30pm on Sunday 11 October. Door sales will be available or tickets can be purchased from Waikanae New World and Moby Dickens Books in Paraparaumu Beach. Enquiries to Society website.
